It would seem that all the people on the 'net really hate Wesley Crusher.

However, being the same age as he was, and being the same personality type as him, I identified heavily with the character as I was growing up (although I'm not that obnoxious).

I even dressed as Wesley for Halloween in 1992 (funky sweater and slacks; QVC 'soundboard communicator' (#J-16144); I already had the same haircut). "Golly gee, Commander Riker! Are they shooting at us?"

And, yes... I have saved the ship on many occasions.
